€ 80 Super Yacht travels from Australia to Europe with one stop for fuel

Δείτε το σούπερ-γιοτ των €80 εκατ. που μπορεί να ταξιδέψει από την Αυστραλία στην Ευρώπη με 1 στάση για καύσιμα

By the price € 80 million, SilverFast although is one of the most expensive boats on the market, is ideal for anyone interested in the environment, but also to anyone who wants the luxury of a mega yacht. The SilverFast’s super yacht is environmentally friendly, while still providing all the luxuries associated with a boat of this size. SilverFast made a trip from Australia to Europe, a trip of about 10,000 nautical miles with only one stop for fuel, a feat almost unprecedented for a large yacht.

In addition to environmental friendliness, the SilverFast includes nine guest cabins (one master suite, five doubles and three triples), can accommodate a crew of 18, has a maximum speed of 27 knots (31 mph) and has a sun deck with an outdoor cinema, a jacuzzi for eight people and a sound system 70.000 watt. Moreover, Silveryachts includes huge storage space and a helipad.

Get a taste of the SilverFast

The Silverfast has multiple levels and is 10 meters wide. The top floor is the main apartment with a master bedroom, ensuite bathroom, walk-in wardrobes, and its own private deck.

The yacht is made entirely of aluminium which makes it the fastest of its kind, with a top speed of 27 knots (30 mph) — not bad for a vessel weighing 952 tons.

The power comes from two 3,630hp diesel engines which, despite their size, are able to travel 4,500 nautical miles on a single tank of fuel.

Due to its design, the Silverfast is able to pass through shallow waters because the hull has a relatively small "draft" height of three meters. ("Draft" is the measurement from the waterline to the bottom of the hull.)

Designed by Espen Øino, the Silverfast is the fourth in a series of boats that focus on incorporating power, long range and fuel efficiency into one package. The results — a sleek 77 meter vessel — are stunning.

The Silverfast can accommodate up to 18 guests, and a seating area for up to 20 more makes it ideal for entertaining off the coast. The guests can be catered to by the 18 staff who also live on the boat.

The yacht has nine cabins in total with two additional smaller berths. The master cabin (pictured) is located on the top deck, while the remaining eight (of which five are double and three are twin) are located on the lower levels.

The Silverfast includes a sea level "beach club" with a gym, spa, eight-person Jacuzzi, and bar — all of which are accompanied by trained staff.

The interior of the boat resembles a mansion with multiple seating areas, kitchens and TVs abound. All of the decor is chosen by Andreas Holnburger to be "fresh and luxurious."

While the boat includes a bar — and bar staff — there are numerous areas that are ideal for relaxing and watching a film.

The upper deck is dedicated to the master suite and includes a seating area that leads out from the bedroom. This area can be self-contained and is ideal for a situation when the boat isn't completely full.

At £57 million ($88 million, €80 million), the Silverfast is one of the most expensive boats on the market and is ideal for anyone who cares about the environment but also wants a huge yacht.

RIVE BLANCHE NYMPHÉAS: WHEN WATCHMAKING MEETS IMPRESSIONISM

Rive Blanche Nymphéas_RPThe Rive Blanche Nymphéas model pays tribute to the water lily, in an ode to this mysterious flower which symbolises perfection and purity. Champs Élysées has designed this unique piece with many features which evoke the aquatic world: a drop-shaped case, a dial set with diamonds and sapphires to create a wash of blue like the subtle caress of the waves on the surface of a pond, and three gem-set flowers adorning the watch case middle. Delicate, refined and sophisticated, the Rive Blanche Nymphéas is a masterpiece of the jeweller’s art, inspired by the great masters of impressionism.

The Rive Blanche collection draws its inspiration from the Seine, which gave rise to its name, the drop shape of its case and the waves which ripple across its dial. By honouring the water lily, Champs Élysées confirms its attachment to the City of Light, paying tribute to Claude Monet who returned to this theme again and again in his Nymphéas series. To bring the Rive Blanche Nymphéas model to life, Champs Élysées called upon the expertise of master jewellers and talented gem-setters, able to recreate the beauty, elegance and perfection of the water lily. Delicately placed around the watch case middle, like a water lily on the surface of a pond, these flowers sparkle from their golden centre to the very tips of their precious petals. The dial is set with diamonds and sapphires, coming together to create a gentle wash of blue which brings to mind an impressionist canvas. Understated and elegant, this piece showcases the finesse of the master jeweller’s art.

Hermès Birkin Bag Sells for Record $222,000 at Auction in Hong Kong

at
ForbesLife

An Hermès Birkin bag with diamonds set a record for the most expensive handbag ever sold at auction, bringing 1.72 million Hong Kong dollars ($221,846). According to the Wall Street Journal, the fuchsia bag sold at Christie’s afternoon handbag auction in Hong Kong on Monday, and was purchased by an unknown bidder on the phone.

The previous record for a handbag was set in 2011, when a red Birkin with diamonds sold for $203,150 at Heritage Auctions in New York. That same year, a diamond and gold handbag once owned by Elizabeth Taylor sold at Christie’s for $218,500, but that item was listed in the jewelry category.

hermes-handbag-auctionAstonishingly, the record-setting handbag—which could be eclipsed by another Birkin in the same auction—isn’t the most expensive Hermès bag offered for sale. The luxury site 1stDibs currently lists an Hermès Birkin, which is notoriously difficult to purchase in retail stores, for $450,000. That 30cm handbag is made from Himalayan Niloticus crocodile and features an 18k white gold lock with white diamonds, totalling 1.64 carats.

Whoever bags that special Birkin can rest assured it will arrive safely—1stDibs notes that it will be delivered by a Brink’s truck.
