It’s officially known as Las Vegas Boulevard, but in reality it’s a strip of glitz and glam of unrivalled proportions. To say it’s over the top might be an understatement. The Strip is the main drag of gambling U.S.A. and home to most of the top Hotels, casinos and nightclubs Las Vegas style! A stroll down the Strip at night is a blaze of blinking lights and a sea of humanity making its way to that winning slot machine. Night time is also the most comfortable time of day to be outdoors in the Las Vegas heat zone, so take your stroll under the stars and bask in the glow.

What really took me aback about Las Vegas is that it’s a lot more than casinomania.  The town most of the time buzzes with high-tech conventioneers (Couture show and JCK presented in this issue), weekending couples and families out for a little fun in the desert sun, not to mention people searching for pleasure in the capital of sin. Great! the next question arises; where to stay?

The 21th Monaco Yacht Show 2011 (Sept 21 to 24) offered a serious forum for luxury yachting professionals. In this unique world the most renowned brokers, shipyards and-high end service providers showcased their yachts, products and latest innovations to International Clients from around the Globe.

The Monaco Yacht Show presents the greatest showcase of luxury yachting in the world. A high-end show guaranteed by the meticulous selection of the exhibitors (500 exhibitors) presented top quality services and products and whose expertise is recognized by the industry.

9,000 m² of stands set up on the show’s total surface area of 22,000 m².

100 exceptional superyachts from 25 to 90 m long

The Monaco Yacht Show is the most prestigious gathering of superyachts: a selection of 100 outstanding super and megayachts from 25 to over 90 m long (average size of 44 m) is unveiled by the most renowned brokers and shipyards. The show was also the unique occasion to visit about forty of the superyachts delivered in the year and exhibited in world premiere.

Only Watch 2011 was auctioned 40 maginificent timepieces to benefit research into duchenne muscular dystrophy, was held in Monaco at Hotel Hermitage, yesterday 23rd of September 2011 under the patronage of HSH Prince Albert II. The auction is held every two years and brings together the cream of Switzerland’s haute horlogerie watchmakers.

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a serious genetic disorder affecting 1 out of every 3,500 boys. It is characterised by a progressive weakening of the muscles, resulting in respiratory and cardiac problems that become fatal as the child gets older. There are around 30,000 sufferers of the disease in Europe alone.

Patek Philippe Genève, Ref. 3939 for Only Watch  reached the magnificent price of EUR 1,400,000 the highest rank overall of this exceptional auction of the 40 of the world’s greatest watchmakers. It is a manually wound wristwatch with Minute Repeater and Tourbillon. PARIS — Hermes won a major victory Thursday in its battle to torpedo a potential takeover by its larger rival LVMH after a court cleared the French luxury group’s plans to create a holding company that will lock in descendants of the founding family for 20 years. Once Hermes creates the company, which will control more than 50.2 percent of its equity, LVMH — which last year stealthily grabbed a 17 percent stake in Hermes — will face daunting barriers to win control of Hermes, maker of fashionable leather bags.
